The Canon EOS R is the first foray into the full-frame compact system market from Canon. Boasting a 30.3MP full-frame sensor, and the new RF camera mount, the Canon R is packed with impressive tech. Featuring dual pixel phase-detection AF, 14-bit RAW, and video capture from 4K30p / FullHD at 60fps / HD and 120fps. A rear Multi-Function bar also offers unparalleled interface customisation. This version comes with the EF-EOS R adapter, allowing the use of EF and EF-S glass with the camera.

Introducing the new RF Mount
The Canon EOS R features the new RF mount, which retains the same mount diameter as the EF mount (54mm), but thanks to its new design, the flange back distance is now reduced to just 20mm. This helps with reducing the weight of the camera and lenses, but also greatly improves image quality in the process. Autofocus speed and the physical time it takes the camera to talk to the lens are also improved.
New Multi-Function (M-FN) bar
A customisable, touch control bar on the rear of the camera allows users to assign their own settings for easy, yet powerful control on the fly. With the simple left, right, slide, and press motions, users gain control of ISO Speed, white balance, check focus/display info, movie shooting, and Flexible Priority AE. Users can also assign their own settings to the bar, allowing them to tailor the interface to their own needs.
Impressive autofocus
The Canon EOS R boasts a mind-boggling 5655 selectable autofocus points (compared to 61 on the 5D Mark IV). The camera is also the first to be able to focus down to EV -6 at ISO 100.
Designed to complement your existing kit
Despite the new lens mount, Canon has ensured the users of the DSLR systems can seamlessly make the jump to the Canon EOS R system. Three different lens mounts are also available, allowing Canon users to simply carry on where they left off by using their old EF and EF-S glass.
Mount Adapter EF-EOS R
Canon’s new EF-EOS R mount adapter allows users to attach their EF and EF-S glass to the R’s RF mount.
Powerful video capabilities
The Canon EOS R system offers filmmakers the opportunity to shoot 4K at 30fps, while there are also options to shoot 1080p up to 60fps (not available in EF-S cropped mode), and 720p up to 120fps, all in Canon’s hugely popular C-Log formats. The EOS R also supports 10-bit output and continuous shooting for up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds.
