Canon Portrait Week: Finding your photographic style with Eliška Sky
Join Eliška during Canon’s Portrait Week as she shares her journey into creative photography and how she found her personal style. You will have a chance to see behind the scenes of her commercial and art projects including her camera and lighting gear. Eliška will also share personal tips on how to get your photographic work published, get commercial clients and collaborate with a team to get the best results. There will be time for a Q&A at the end of the session.
About Eliška
Eliška Sky is a Czech Artist & Art Director using the medium of photography and film to capture the diversity of beauty with her surrealistic vision. She is known for her elaborate fashion projects involving large scale set design and also playful art series exploring the forms of the human body.
Eliška Sky is the Canon ambassador, former digital creative consultant for Vogue Czechoslovakia and her works were exhibited at international shows in Prague, New York, Paris, London, Hong Kong and Helsinki. She regularly creates concepts & editorials for fashion publications and magazines. To mention some highlights, she photographed the supermodel Martha Hunt in New York for Numero Russia cover story, unique beauty Melanie Gaydos for Vogue Italia, muse Niko Riam in Iceland also for Vogue Italia and modern icons Hungry and Salvia for Vogue Czechoslovakia. Advertising clients include brands like Puma, Zalando and Preciosa crystals.
Eliška was awarded the winner of Portrait of Britain 2018, Hasselblad Masters finalist 2018 and overall winner of Diversity Now! by the i-D magazine in 2015. She was selected as Fresh Eyes Talent 2020. Magazine Forbes selected Eliška among 4 Czech female photographers who dominate the fashion industry in the year 2019.
As well as her fashion & art projects, Eliška Sky was the art director for the installation ‘Real Life Luxury’ for Zalando at Prague Fashion week 2020 and prepares the stage design for the upcoming show Bohemian Gravity for Prague’s National Theatre (premiere in March 2022).
She graduated with a masters in fashion photography at London College of Fashion at the University of the Arts and currently lives in London.
