The Tamron 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD for Sony E-mount is a one-of-a-kind, fast-aperture ultra-wide to a regular zoom lens that is portable enough for everyday use. It is ideal for both photography and video creation. It is the smallest and lightest F/2.8 zoom in its class, with an extreme wide-angle focal range of 20mm and a regular focal range of 40mm.
The Tamron 20-40mm F/2.8 produces stunning photos across its zoom range and is ideal for still photography as well as making vlogs and other video material. Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus technology employs the linear motor focus mechanism. The VXD performs quietly and quickly, with high-speed and high-precision autofocus. The lens delivers powerful close-range shooting capability, as well as wide-angle macro photography, with a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of just 17 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8 at the wide end.

High image quality in a compact, lightweight body
The 20-40mm F2.8 has an optical construction of 12 elements in 11 groups. With four LD (Low Dispersion), two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) and one Hybrid Aspherical lens elements, it boasts a generous arrangement of special lens elements. This strikes a balance between high image quality and compact size across the entire zoom range. Another feature is the beautifully soft bokeh that is unique to the fast F2.8 aperture.
Tamron’s VXD linear motor for silent high-level AF speed and precision
The autofocus drive system uses the VXD linear motor focus mechanism. The high-speed, high-precision AF enables the lens to respond to the creative intentions of the photographer by making focusing quick and definite, even with fast-aperture lenses, from the MOD to infinity. The lens provides excellent focus tracking of moving objects so that you never miss those important moments. Plus, the lens is extremely quiet, so it’s perfectly suited for both still and video shooting in conditions that demand silent operation.

We do ask when returning use a reputable courier with a tracking service and the item to be fully insured. Please be aware that we’ll only process your refund once the item has been returned and checked by our specialist; this can take up to 14 days.
